So I warned up my 8hp trolling motor at dock, shut it off. Ran out to fishing spot on main motor-only to realize my trolling motor was down in water,,and in reverse.. now it will not
start..any ideas what I screwed up and is it fixable? Thanks Dumbass

Dry it out as likely drowned from overspray

Motor rotated backwards. Intake becomes exhaust. Exhaust becomes intake.

Not good for water to enter a cylinder. Particularly when the motor is turning.

I disagree as a 2 stroke will run backwards

Take cowling off and inspect it.

I have, I cannot see any signs of damage

Do some basic tests , motor has to have spark,fuel and compression.
