raw water pump replacement

I am doing some servicing on a 2002 Wellcraft excalibur with a 5.7 Gi-B engine. I have worked quite a bit on mercruisers, but not these. I want to replace the impeller on the raw water pump. It is on the front of the engine. can I replace the impeller only, or do I need to do the complete assembly? any pointers on removal and installation are appreciated.

Dan, the impeller is a replaceable item on most any sea water pump.
See your Vovo Penta OEM work shop manual for the instructions.
If this is the pump that I'm recalling, it is slightly different from what you may see.
The entire housing removes from the base. Pretty easy to do.

At the end of this coming season, remove your impeller.
When stored outside of the pump body, they'll generally be good for another season.
