Long story short I screwed up and am now the not so proud owner of a of a mercury made lower unit. My research thus far says everything is compatible other than the shift rod splines. I attempted to order the old (97-99) shift rod A (upper shift rod) from a few places with all of them saying the part is not available. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can make this lower unit work without needing a machinist?
