I noticed that the amount of water being ejected from the “pisser” orifice was way too weak. About one-third I’d say. I have nylon thread to undue any type of plug up (seaweed), but still never got it to be near normal. That was not the issue. I needed to investigate.
When I returned to my slip,I tilted the engine up and attached the flushing hose (fresh water) and noticed fresh water was coming out of the pisser hose (weak) and ALSO draining from bottom of cowling (close to pisser) that dripped back into the water (not spraying in engine). I thought that maybe the rubber hose to the pisser discharge orifice must have a slit in it or had cracked or something. I reached underneath and checked the rubber hose connected to the pisser. When touched, it fell off the nipple. Obviously it was loose. My fat fingers cannot reach the hose and put it back on. I'm sure that's my issue.
Any suggestions? I do not have a trailer for haul-out (I have a slip in harbor) so I hoping someone can tell me how attack this issue. Take cowling off?
Thanks.
