omc cobra and mercruiser compatibility..

ok, so looking for help here,i have a 1988 or 1989 four winns 160 freedom with omc cobra lower unit outdrive...is a 1992 starcraft compatible? i believe 3.0 motor for both.

If the question is whether the hole thru the transom is the same for both drives, then yes. You can put any drive on.
