old style crossflow pistons 140

I just picked up a 140 Evinrude .
After pulling the Bypass covers I see it has the narrow ring land pistons.
How long till they fail or is it even something I should be concerned about?
Would my usage Play into this.

All I can say is, use good oil and gas and run it until it quits. JMO

All the rings are somewhat narrow...the concern is does it still have the high ring piston?. This piston has the top ring on edge of piston (see picture) vs the later replacements (2nd picture).

Correct high ring . It's out of service now thanks
