Oil pressure gauge , Where's the hook up

when I bought this boat and motor last year it had a oil pressure gauge on the dash not hooked up. The seller said it's been this way since new. Still it should be hooked up. My owners manual and service manual don't provide any info.
How is the dash board mounted oil pressure gauge hooked up to the motor ?
 
You would have to add a "T" at the oil pressure switch and add a sender to operate gauge. You will also need the correct gauge as the 4 strokes have a average oil pressure of about 50 psi at idle and around 70-80psi at WOT.

Mercury says there is no passages to install a oil sender to read gauges.....so why did the boat come with an oil gauge?????
 
The boat builder probably ordered "X" quantity of dash assys. w/specific gauges and used them in whatever they built.
 
good way to get a bad reputation and make it difficult for dealers to hold their heads up with customers.
