Oil leak

Hi Guys I'm new to this posting thing so bare with me I have an 1983 sea ray 260 I've had this boat for more than ten years and I have recently installed a rebuilt 5.7 mercruiser the motor seems to run very well but I am having oil puddling on top of the intake manifold more on the port side but on both sides I'm not yet sure if I am leaking at the oil pan but suspect so. the oil pressure runs at 60 plus psi Any ideas would be very much appreciated Thanks Jim

Oil leak probably at dist mount. Also check intake manifold front and rear rail to block and up to heads. Oil pan leak wouldn't leave puddles on intake manifold. Don't try to use gaskets that come with kit, use permatex right stuff on block rails and up to intake gaskets on heads.

thanks I'm out to check these items this morning I mentioned oil pan because I was wondering about to much oil pressure at 60 or more psi

I cant post picture but the oil is puddling on port side of carb in a valley on the intake by intake bolt but I can see it leaking . also there is oil dripping from the underside of port exhaust manifold

Well that is not uncommon.

I would say it is either coming from the valve cover gasket not sealing well or one of the intake manifold bolts may be leaching some oil.

personally if it is only like a half of a tee spoon of oil.

wipe it up and enjoy the boat...drink more beer and forget about it.
