G'day
I am pretty much rebuilding my outboard and alot of the bolts and nuts were siezed and had to be cut off but now I need to replace them but I am not 100% sure of the sizes
does anyone know were I can find the sizes I have a manual but it doesnt show sizes

any help would be great

Cheers

I am not aware of anywhere that Merc has ever listed the size of their fasteners - of course, you can find the "merc part numbers" and buy them from them - but as far as stating say a 1 1/4" long 1/4 hex bolt or a 8 mm screw - no dice there.

Even the parts and service manuals, which occassionally give the length (in millimeters) still do not specify the actual fastener size.

Sorry..

I would say go around with a bolt of every size and see what fits where first, rather than drilling them out. Make note of how many and what length, then just get what you need in either 18-8 or 304 stainless. Not 100% but I don't think they use metric.

Imperial: -------------------Closest Metric Equivalent:
10-24 -----------------------M5 x 0.8
1/4-20 ----------------------M6 x 1.0
5/16-18 --------------------M8 x 1.25
3/8-16 ---------------------M10 x 1.5
