1998 E Rude 225 Vindicator Looper, Just replaced Stator, CDI box, Trigger ring and took the boat out. Ran perfect. 2 weeks later, went to take it out, put it on the muffs and would not start. No spark to any of the cylinders, I found that if I disconnected the ground for the CDI box that it would start up but would not stay running unless I hooked the CDI ground wire back up. Can not run it like this, I tried, it dies when you put it in gear. Called CDI electronics tech line and they are dumbfounded.
I was told to check my wiring, disconnected the key switch harness at the engine to see if it was the harness, same problem when jumping at the starter solenoid. So it has to be at the motor, checked all connections. I am at a loss, Hopefully someone on here has come across this before.
