New owner questions

Hi All,
I searched but could not find anything. I have a 1998 Johnson 225. My question is, can I hook a temp gauge to it or does it only have the warning light option. If I can what color is the wire for the sending unit? The other question is, Does it have a trim position sensor for a gauge? If so what color is that wire for the sending unit. My old motor did have these options but I can't find them on the new one. Thank you all in advance.

A threaded hole at the top portion of the port cylinder head? If so, that's where the sensor would normally screw in. Check this site for a temperature gauge kit or any dealership. The included wire is usually tan.

it does have sensors in both heads only the starboard side, when looking from stern to bow, has wires attached and they go to the light. But it seems to be an on off thing not a variable type sensor. Am I wrong about that?

Joe is saying to look for a threaded hole on the cylinder head.-----You would install the sensor for the temperature gauge in there.----Or post pictures of what you have on your motor.

My dad is no longer with us so knock off the snide nit-picking comments Bubba. For those interested...I may drop my separate listing and continue on with dad's when I have time.
