This looks to be a very interesting and informative forum. I am a retired Coast Guard Officer and engineer. I spent much of my career working in Boating Safety and especially in standards for boat manufacturers. After I retired I went back to work with the USCG as a civilian engineer, again working with boat manufacturers. Did that for another 14 years. 34 years total.
I have been around boats since I was a kid. All kinds of boats. I currently have a 1972 18 ft Sea Ray I/O with a Mercruiser 165. Right now the engine is dead. Cracked block and head. Need new engine.
