Hey everyone. I have a 99' sea ray sundeck 210. Mercruiser 5.0 in it. Boat has 500 hours on it and has been running well. 2 weeks ago I took it to Florida and it sat in the parking lot all week with the drain plug in and a bad float switch. Long story short it filled with water from all the rain. I drained it. I got it back to indiana checked the oil, it had water in it. The boat didn't run with the water. I'm guessing it had a gallon in it. I changed the oil. Tried to start it and the battery was dead( not really surprised, the water made a connection somewhere). So I charged the battery and got the engine to fire up and run for a few min. Everything seemed fine. Took the charger off and it wouldn't start, so I figured that battery was still low on charge or maybe shot. I kept the charger on it until the next day. Started right up ran for a few min again. Shut it off and started it with no charger and it started again. So I was going to take it out on the water in the subdivision. After the 10 min drive with no charger the boat didn't have enough juice to start so I tried jumping it with the truck. Turned over a few time but Wouldn't start. After a couple tries it stopped turning over. Now it just clicks somewhere at the motor. Sounds like the starter but I can't see it and nobody is home to try turning it while I am next to the engine. Any ideas!? Maybe the solenoid? Is that on the starter like on a car? I do know about engines but not boats, not a mechanic tho. I did try turning the bolt on he crankshaft but it just tightens and I'm afraid to go too much, I don't want to snap it off. Please left me know what you think of my situation. Thanks in advance!
