I am rebuilding my engine and found this small hole below my piston rod. Will this effect my engine once I change sleeve, piston and rings. I had a bad piston and rings which caused the sleeve to break and potentially cause the hole. It is all internal but I dont want to buy the parts to fix the engine if this is going to be an issue.

Yes I removed it because it was busted. The hole im refering to is just below the opening in the shape of and oil light on a car dash

I removed the sleeve due to being damaged. I just want to be sure that the hole will not be able to compromise the engine before I add new parts.

No the hole is towards the back of the photo where the piston rod goes out to attach to the crankshaft it looks like the oil light in most cars or a genies lamp
