Motor stops running

Hello, all. I have an merc 20hp outboard and is dying on me. Went trolling yesterday and had a hell of a time keeping in running. It would shut off at full throttle after about 45sec. It would die when i would troll 1.5mph.ran fine a week ago. Fuel filter looks good.

Took it out today did the same thing as it did before. Get the rpms up and just shut off. Pee hole works good. I did remove the fuel regulator(think thats what its called) before issues started. One fellow said its junk to remove it. It goes from portable fuel tank to motor. Could that be the problem? Also, where can i get the repair manual at?

Is the vent open on your portable tank? Regulator, are you talking about the primer ball?
 
Slows down and die or suddenly like kill switch pulled? Just got thru with a 2007 9.9 doing same thing. It was the Yammy badged Merc and the coil was failing. It would run WOT for a few minutes and shut off.
