The prize is helping somebody out when the obvious is not so obvious . Boats are like having a box of different puzzles in the same box and you have to figure out what goes to what puzzle

Is there spark when the motor dies? If not, I suspect an electronic item overheating. After it cools down, it works again.

But you need to CHECK for spark immediately when this happens. Have somebody down there with a spark tester and find out.

Jeff, I think that Ed knows what the issue is, and he's just putting this out there for us to comment on as to what we see.

The #1 prize for the correct answer is:
4 new 6 volt golf cart batteries for house bank use
a year's supply of fuel
a gift certificate for next year's winterizing
dinner for 2 at a fancy restaurant

#2 prize is:
a case of used engine oil
a 12 pack of used impellers
5 used head gaskets.

I see the problem. Luckily for the boat owner, it happened in that spot.

This style cap is responsible for more blown engines than any other part failure.

42PSI of fuel pressure is high at idle for an MPI.

Yes mikey, melted....

Ever seen tha comercial with the fried eggs?
If you remember it you will know what i mean.

only if you change the dist.Called the HVS high voltage switch so any type of gm v8 dist will work, only thing needed is the rotor. no module, , just an empty dist .
