Modifying 2003 125 (2+2) motor, to run like a normal 4 cylinder?

Hey guyz, I am new to this forum and I just purchased a new 2003 nitro 185 f/s with a 125 merc.
I have done some online research on the 2+2 motors. I have found both good and bad, but most people complain about the 2+2 function. From what I have read, that is done thru the carbs. If so, seems like this could be easily undone, so the motor would run on 4 cylinders, all the time. If this is right, is this a worthwhile mod. to pursue? Has anyone done this mod before and was it difficult to do? I would greatly appreciate any and all information and opinions on the subject.
Thanks guyz!

Long story short...wont work.It will vibrate itself apart at idle....The people that complain have motors that are not set-up correctly or overpropped or ski. When set up/propped correctly you ll barely notice the transition.

Thanks. I continue reading where people complain about it kicking them in the back, when it brings on the last 2 cylinders. I haven't had mine in the water yet, based off what the previous owner has told me... I am 90% sure it's propped wrong. He complained of it getting squirrelly at high speed, so he installed trim tabs to settle it down. It's pushing a 2003, nitro 185 f/s. It's has a 24p laser 2 prop. From what I have read, those are not good performance props and a 24p...seems like too much pitch.

You need to prop for 5250 rpm max. they are good motors. The trim tabs is probably fixing the chinewalking that is going on.
