am having an issue with my '95 Nx882, the XR6 150hp Merc, is, to me fickle.. Fresh outta the shop, first trip to the lake, the Hi-temp alarm starts blaring while running 4500rpm, water psi about 30... no water out of the tube... I shut it down, waited (fished) about 30 minutes.. started, still no water out.. but no alarm, pushed to WOT, 5600rpm, 55mph(GPS).. Ran great, never got the alarm again.. at idle, no water out but at high rpm, some water out (small stream).. The "Certified Merc" mechanic says it is normal for that motor..
I am used to a solid stream even at idle with Yamahas and Mercs... Do I really have a problem..I have had the impeller changed twice in Two years, maybe 20 hours inbetween...
