Mercury Sterndrive

Had a horizontal Skeg break on one of the sterndrives, not alot of material avaialble but seeking a welders opinion. I've seen some UTUBE where it can be replaced/built back up. Any other options out there aside from pulling the drive off?

You can buy a replacement plate and have rewelded...
