Mercury 5" shaft extension removeable?

On a 2001 Nitro Sport 288 I have a blown XR6 150. Measured the shaft length at 23". This motor is on a jack plate. Looking at a 2006 Opti-max 225 but it has 25" shaft.

Is the 5" extension remove able and just button the lu back without the extension?

The boat is rated for a 225 Maximum and this one weighs right at 100lb more than the 150.

Any Issues with weight?
 
They usually are done in both ways; one piece driveshafts and with an extension. You have to pull the LU to see.

Never mind on that one anyway. What is the deal with all the outboard websites from Jakarta Indonesia??
