Hi, we have a 2007 Mercury 100hp efi fourstroke Engine that is locked in safemode. So far we have found that it is a low oilpresshure problem, With an manual gauge it seems to be ok at idle speed but drops as soon as there is an increase in rpm. The oilpump, filter and oil have been changed With no change in readings. We have been to two different Mercury garages who have diagnosed it and tested it both om The water and in The garage. The even calles in a couple of "super techs" from Oslo to help us sort out The problem. (With no luck) so my dad and my sisters boyfriend who is a yamaha tech have pulled it spart to check bearings, carbonfilm in The oil channels etc. But everything seem to be in perfect condition. So The latest theory (from yamaha tech) is that there is a crack between oil channels ingoing/outgoing, but in my head tha doesent really make any sence either. As i believe that crack would be massive to drain all that oil, and since everything else seems to be in good condition and there Are no other signs of a crack. So if anybody out there have got any theories i would like to hear Your thougts.
Im sorry if it is kind of a bad explanation, english isnt my first language so if you have any questions just ask and ill try to do a better explanation.

Regards stig

At idle it read approx 21.34 psi and drops to approx 18.50 at 2800 rpm.
From what we have been told The 21.34 psi at idle approx 800 rpm were ok, but should increase to 30-40psi at 3000 rpm and have a max pressure at approx 68-70 at wot/5500 rpm.
So these numbers Are to low in The entire rpm range?
I dont know if This is og any importance og could lead you to The answer, but it is a standard Engine used mostly for slow trolling/idle speeds, With cruising speed at approx 4000rpm out to our fishing spots.(and home ofcorse).

With the new oil pump pressure should have picked up even if passage cracked, I myself would be more prone too it being in the relief valve in oil pump is open
