Mercruiser Rattling

Any idea what this rattling noise is? It might be coming from something you can see in the video or it could be from somewhere else. I couldn't tell for sure.

Is that an expensive fix? Would the boat still drive with that issue?

That motor should not be rocking around .coupler is around $350 USD
you need to remove the drive, lift up motor for access, R/R coupler, reinstall, realign,install drive

As BT mentions coupler is not too bad cost wise or amount of work wise. Only way it could get expensive is if a rotten transom and stringers contributed to misalignment which can take out a coupler. Check that good when you have the engine out

I’ve never heard of this, I’ve heard of cracked cavitation plates where hydrofoils mount but never a coupler issue from them. Most couplers develop issues from improper engine alignment.

I’m curious of the correlation between a hydrofoil and coupler issues?
