mariner sixty 3 cyl only work on 2 cyl

Bought boat and motor last week guy that owned it had motor problems, and disconnected the Red Stator Coil without marking which wire went where. Part number of stator is 398-832074-a10.Does anyone have a diagram of which wire goes where? Any help will be appreciated.

nothing on switchbox.please excuse my ignorance but what is 40 hp. 2 cyl. adapter part no. 8m0021546 its hooked up to this motor.

He has the updated stator for that engine. I think CDI makes those stator upgrades. You may have to contact CDI to get a wiring diagram

All switchboxes with threaded terminals are labled in the plastic under terminal. The red stator kit is junk(CDI and Merc's) but since you have it the red goes on the terminal imprinted red and blue to imprinted terminal blue.
