Mariner 150 xr2 sluggish in the hole

Hello everyone I bought a boat for 200 bucks fixed it up took it to the lake and it comes up on plane but takes a long time to get there.. if someone is with me it won't plane they have to sit on bow.. I've rebuilt carbs fuel pump and tested all coil packs all test good.. wires good. Saw a guy stomp on his trottle and it Reved up picked his boat up good ... I can't even push my boat up on the trailer... Just has no low end power.. but oncea it's on plane it runs normal???? Like a normal boat... Any ideas? Oh yeah forgot to mention compression test passed all cylinders 102-110

Try opening the idle mixture screws (out CCW)an 1/8 turn at a time.

Hey Jeff thanks for your response. I don't see a screw on the carbs that could adjust.. all brass bolts 2 to drain bowls and 2 on the top to get to jets..

The previous owner said he ran it out of gas and ever since it's had this issue. I checked the pick-up line screen was clean

Uhhh this motor don't have mixture screws and compression is low for that engine.

What does the compression need to be at? I can try a different gauge if it's somewhat close

Just read that compression test will read lower if motor is cold? If that's true then that might be the reason why.. I tested with all spark plugs out if that makes a difference too

Should be around 115-120.....have a leak down test performed on it.
