mando alternator

Will a 55 amp mando alternator charge 2 batteries. one is for starting and the other for f/f, fog lights, interior lights,radio?

I am no pro, but I would not think it would if you mean both at the same time. Install a battery switch, so when your aux. battery is getting low, you can flip the switch and charge it. Just remember to switch back to your cranking battery when done! I use this set up in my boat with a deep cycle for my lights/ electronics and it works well.

If left on both with a battery switch will the 55 amp be able to charge both batteries at the same time.

Yes. It won't do it very quick, but it will do it.

I assume you do all your boating within sight of land or at least have cell phone service?

TOW BOAT US.... but that has nothing to do with what alternator I purchase. I 'm opting for a mando 65 amp anyway.
