Lower Unit Gear Oil

Is it OK to use Mercruiser High Performance Gear lube in '95 Johnson 175's? How much is each lower unit?
I have some extra from my I/O.......I don't see any harm in using it.

Just as long as all the old is drained out as sometime oils wont mix.

Yes, that's all. It's also not a bad idea to get new washers for both screws.
