lower end rebuild

i have a lower end from a 1993 j48 eslete model . ready to help young mechanic put back together. are there any helpful tricks to help him with it. i am concerned with installing the shift rod and associated parts

not sure how to answer reply had problem with linkage mechanic took apart chased threads on shift rod. putting it back together want him to be successful first time

i had problem with shift rod mechanic removed cleaned threads . every thing good just want putting it back together smooth for him first time on his own. is hooking up shift rod difficult to drive shaft. got proper measurements for length
