Kill switch Mercury 500 year 1969

Hello

May be someone can help me as I am looking to put a security lanyard /Kill switch on a Mercury 500 outboard (year 1969).
The security system I got on my boat is working on thefollowing way, wire not connected when the lanyard is in, and if the lanyard isout connection is made.
Do you know how to connect the security system to myoutboard, or better to the remote control without Killing the switchboxe ? (Enclosed is the electric scheme) ?

Or do you think it wlll be better to change the kill switch system, and use onewhen lanyard is out just cut the ignition (as the key is doing on the MerControlbox)

I am just wondering r need confirmation on how the key connector is working. The key switch off is D/E. When it is off, is the ignition to ground (eg engine to ground)?
