I've put my hand up to help my brother out with a problem on his boat, but I haven't gotten far, and I'm stuck. The problem is that the tilt trim motor won't raise the motor up, but it will lower it down. If I understand the electrical system correctly, there should be a relay for each direction - I suspect the down relay may be kaput. I've found what I thought was the relay, but it doesn't look like anything I've found online. The unit I've found is a black box mounted to the motor close to the tilt trim switch. It's got 8 wires - 2 of which appear to come from the battery, 2 go to the motor, 2 to the switch, and another 2 to the travel switch (can't remember if it's up or down travel).
I've attached a pic of the box - I realise it's not the best image.
No idea what year model the motor is - I'm guessing it's late 90's or early 2000's...
Can anyone confirm if this is in fact the right relay, and if so, where I might get one? unfortunately the boat is about a hour and a half from here, so this is all I have to go off...
