J225PLSSR no WOT after cold start

Hello, I am looking for a starting point in troubleshooting this issue. After a cold start with boat in gear I cannot give it any throttle or it bogs down and stalls. After running for a while and warm throttle response returns to normal. With boat out of gear it will rev with no issues and in gear it will stall. The remainder of the day it will start and run fine, until the next trip out and the problem restarts. Looking for a starting point in troubleshooting, I am fairly mechanically inclined when it comes to automobiles and am learning as I go in marine. Have searched quite a bit but haven’t found anything similar to my issue. Thanks in advance, for assistance with this issue and all the past issues you all have helped me solve!

Checked thermostats ?----Checked shift switch on motor linkages?
I have not checked thermostats yet as I could not think of a reasoning that would create the issue I was having, but i am willing to give anything a shot that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. What do you mean about shift switch? It goes into gear, forward/reverse with no issues and when in neutral it will rev with no hesitation.

There is a switch on the motor.-----This switch cuts off spark to 3 cylinders during shifting.----This switch if sticky needs to be checked by you.----A V-6 will rev up in neutral and sound just wonderful to an untrained ear.---Sorry to be blunt here.

Absolutely not a problem, I am here asking for help and any input is good input.

If the T-stats are stuck open the cylinders will run too cold and not get to proper operating temperature.
Pulled both thermostats and blowoff valve. Cleaned BOV up and will replace both t-stats when they arrive. I can’t say they were stuck open but when testing them one did stick open. Will test once reassembled and will test both temperature switches also (which are crazy expensive btw).
