Is this something i can do?

Hey guys..i have two old 90hp inline 6 cylinder mercury outboards..one is a 79 with two cylinder tilt/trim and externally mounted pump/motor, which the pump motor is toast, the other is a i believe 85 with a single center mounted tilt cylinder and internally mounted pump, can i get away with switching that to the 79? They seem to both mount to the lower unit the same way, has anyone ever done this? Are there any details on this sort of swap?

Ah..i didnt think it eould be just that easy lol..can you tell me if my powerhead will fit on the other leg? Bolt patterns appear to be the same, but im unsure if the crankshaft if the same

You can get a new pump and reservor for less than $140. part #18-6763

Yeah i know they arent that much money, but this other lower unit is in much better shape than the one im using..so i was hoping to be able to swap it
