Internal Anodes on '02 BF225

Hi guys,

Anybody changed these on an '02? No info in my manual, but I have heard that the intake manifold has to be removed to get at one of them.

Any info would be appreciated!

There are two of them located under each exhaust manifold and are clearly shown on Page 5-119 of the shop manual. The part number is 12155-zv5-000.

There is no mention of their replacement in the Honda maintenance schedule. On page 5-119 it simply says "replace the anode metal if it is corroded excessively." Of course, you must remove the entire exhaust manifold to inspect them. Great design, Honda! It would have been much more maintenance friendly if they had thought about making them a bolt-in anode, accessable from the outside of the manifold.

remember these were car motors that were changed to marine motors
so they had to do something

yamaha are the best, e-z to access with 1 10mm bolt

hondas are crap also, they use a freaking Phillips screw!

ok all I have never replaced these, mine will be in bad shape I am sure.. any input on replacing them ? things that worked better
