Intermittant Ignition trouble

96 Johnson 105 hp jet drive. Engine runs fine for about 1/2 hour then its like someone shuts key off. No spark from power pak. Had it to 2 shops, replaced power pack and flywheel sensor. Runs fine for same 1/2 hour to 45 min, done no spark. Some times spark returns after setting and then again maybe not. Left stranded on the river twice, not allot of fun.....

Unplug the engine harness, pull start and test . A engine shuts off in a outboard by applying a ground to the ign, not by supplying battery to the ign.

Running the engine with the battery disconnected may damage the engine charging system!

Disconnect the kill circuit by removing the black/yellow wire from the ignition switch... if this cures the problem, replace the ignition switch as that indicates a intermittent short within the switch

Never said you did... Cables weren't mentioned. I was not referring to your reply.

Not sure what you mean, but there is no rope start on engine to "pull start".

Just unplug the deutsch connector with blk/yell wires over on port head. More likely the power coil on stator(orange wires)
