Identify part from picture, 1978 500 Thunderbolt

Hey, I'm the proud owner of a 500 from 1978, serial number 5109842.

I need to replace a corroded part, but I can't seem to find it in the diagrams.

It's the blue electrical part next to the top starter housing, check picture below.

As you can see the wire is corroded and broke off when I touched it.

It is a mercury switch ( the liquid metal ) and shuts motor of if tilted too high.

If I just leave it disconnected for the moment, will it kill ignition? I'd like to see if I can get it running properly, and that's one less source of problems if I can disconnect it.

I'm replacing the carb gaskets and fuel lines and hope it works - I'd rather not clean the carbs because I fear the fuel membranes will fall apart if I do...

You can temporarily disconnect it for TEST purposes only. Do Not Operate boat on water till replaced

I still can't find that part on the diagrams though. Which category is it under? It's not under electric components or ignition...
