Honda BF90D 2007 No Power

Hi All, I'm new to this forum.
I have above outboard with low hours but which has stood idle for a few years. Connected to fully charged battery and got red & green lights plus buzzer. Tried to start but nothing. Now no lights, no buzzer.
All fuses (in fuse box) OK & power to 30A & 2 x 10A.
Power to tilt switch on engine but no tilt.
Any suggestions?

Update after viewing similar issue on here. Partially solved after locating bad earth. Will tilt. Now on starting there's only a click from the engine, then nothing. Suspect starter relay, starter motor issue.
TIA

I had a similar problem no power and found from this forum someone hooked by battery cables up wrong. It didn't blow any fuses, relays or charging system. I hooked the cables up correctly and all works fine now.

Hi,
This sounds like a simple bad connection somewhere causing high resistance to current flow.
Voltage can be "present" on a wire or cable but if there is high resistance, no current will flow to work things.

This is usually caused by corrosion on terminals. Did you clean the battery posts and inside the cable clamps?

Other "usual suspects" would be dirty, loose connections at starter solenoid and/or the point where the negative battery cable connects to the outboard.

A technique known as "Voltage Drop Testing can actually enable you to locate high resistance without taking things apart but you would need to learn how it's done.
Lots of good info and YouTube videos about it on the web.

One last thing I'll suggest is that, if you didn't remove and check each fuse individually, you should go back and do that. Their holders get corroded and just taking them out, testing them with an ohmmeter and putting them back can restore power. Fuses fool us all the time.

Good luck.

Good luck.
