Honda BF150 Prop Issues

Hello, I have Cygnus cygnett 23 that weighs 3.5t fully loaded. I have a Honda bf150 outboard, I had prop that was 14.75 x 15 on it was only doing 11knts at 4500RPM. A Honda dealer recommended I stick a 15.5 x 13 and now this has improved but not by much its doing 14.5knts at 5100RPM.
Can anyone see how I can get anymore out of the boat ?

You probably need to drop the diameter or pitch (or both) down a bit more. Your goal is to get to 6000 rpm +/- 200 at WOT (wide open throttle.)

It's hard to say. My best advice is to see if there are any Cygnus Cygnett owners or owner's forum out there on the Internet and ask what they are running, and what performance level they are getting.

Personally, I think you are considerably under powered for a 3.5 T boat. As I said before, you need to be producing 6000 rpm +/- 200 at WOT. Then you know that you have it right. Whatever speed your getting at that point is the best you are going to get.

For comparison, I'm running a 25 ft, 3T C-Hawk with a BF 225. Best prop I've found is a 14.25 X 15. My priority is efficiency. At WOT I'm at 5800 rpm doing 38 mph. If I remove my out riggers, WOT is 6000 at 41 mph. But again, this is a different boat, a different hull, and a different engine.
