Honda bf 40 emergency kill switch

No Clew

I have a 2018 honda bf40 with remote controls that are pedestal mounted on 26 ft boat it does not have a kill switch on it even though people I have asked says an outboard has to have one. I want one on it. It has honda ingnition and wiring. Wiring diagrams don't show a kill switch connection. Only info so far is connect it to the black with red stripe. Questions : tie into the wire with with a tee using normally close switch (open with key in place) to ground? Or Cut the wire and tie normally open switch (closed with key in place) into the circuit? Or is there a circuit that a swich can just be plugged into?
The ignition switch has 5 wites coming out of it but it is sealed.

Hi,
"Tie in to the wire with a tee using normally close (sic) switch (open with key in place)"

Or, IOW, grounding the black with red stripe (Bl/r) wire kills ignition.

It's a standard with most Honda outboards emergency stops with lanyard.

Hope this helps you.

Good luck.

P.S. Goodonya for wiring one in. It's a safety feature I wouldn't want to run without.
