I have a 2009 bf225 and my alarm goes off when i switch the key on even without starting. Ive emptied the water seperator and tried resetting the computer with no luck. Any ideas?

Yes its the long intermittent beeps and I dont have any of the lights on there but found the red and green which I'll be hooking up today.

Long intermittent alarms without the engine running is typically your programmed fuel injection system. If you have the four-light key panel, the red MIL light will stay on after engine is started. The very first thing to check is the ground wire to the ECM.

If you know how to shunt the four-pronged service connector, as has been described many times on this forum, do so, and post the number of long and short blinks. Then reset the ECM. If you need detailed instructions on how to do all of that, send me an e-mail at [email protected].

I'm waiting on a new light panel only the red light works. I cleaned all the grounds and reset the computer now the alarm only sounds while the engine is running. the weird thing is if i use the jumper wire while the engine is running it misses and occasionally stalls but runs fine when removed. i appreciate all the help I'll post more when i replace the panel.

You are not supposed to run the engine while the jumper wire is installed. Just install it, turn on the key, and count the number of long and short blinks.
