Engine will shut itself down after a 1min if warm and 2 mins if cold....I notice the piss was not flowing, so I figured it was over heating and turning off, replaced pump impeller got that working again, still same problem, replaced spark plugs, same problem, verified all cooling passage ways are open and removed thermostat, same problem, checked and kept squeezing fuel bulb, and confirmed it does get hard during idle, same problem, opened fuel tank cap, same problem

i did run it a bit starting it and starting it to get myself back in to shore when the impeller was bad, I questioned some of the impeller was blocking somewhere but took a lot apart and verified compressed air would blow thru....

i need help and notice a YouTube video shows the same problem but I see no help or suggestions of why this motor seems to have a ignition kill to it automatically

I’ve just confirmed the pump housing is also bad, I just replace the impeller without the housing being replaced....stands to reason why it acts like a blockage, just very little pump action....just ordered it

Hi, sorry you're having problems. I will address the shutting down.

The first thing to do when trying to diagnose this problem is to find what's missing when it won't run.

You have to determine if it's losing spark or if it's losing fuel
Checking the spark on these can be difficult because, at lower rpm, the spark is fairly faint and hard to see. The old screwdriver put in the plug wire and holding it close to a good ground probably won't do you much good unlesd you do it in a dark place or, throw a blanket over your head and the outboard. However, if you put a simple spark tester between the plug wire and the plug, it should light up the bulb in the tester. That tester is available at Harbor Freight for around $4.99.

If you find you have spark, then you'll know you have a fuel delivery problem.

If you have no spark then more tests will need to be done to narrow down the cause.
