Honda 50 horse

I just found out my son forced water in exhaust hole thinking it was the pee hole trying to purge what he could because water pump wasn’t working and there was salt water in engine. Bless his heart. I rebuilt water pump top to bottom and it seems like there’s more smoke exhaust than before when engine running. Engine still starts and purrs like before but smoke has me concerned. Any thoughts

Did you immediately change the oil and filter???
If not, do it ASAP.
Other than that,, I don't think there's much else to be done except run it and see if it clears up.
Sounds like you're saying that it was smoking some before so
this is a high hour unit?

At any rate, the fact that it "starts, runs and purrs" is definitely a good sign but an oil change....or even two....might be your best move.
