"okay I've posted twice on the same motor.Am i asking wrong??SHould I just take it to a dealer and wait for Oct.when they can look at it??Does anyone know where i could find more info on a 4cyl 50, besides the manual because the two I've ordered may come in oct. when they can look at my boat.Please someone reply just so I know I'm getting through, even if its just to tell me to go dirt biking and forget about boating.

Post the results of a compress

Post the results of a compression test and a check to make sure you have spark that will jump a gap of 7/16" or better at each plug.Drive 3 hrs and I can repair it.

thanks for answering compression 120 give or take a lb or 2 across the board. spark at all 4 . 7/16? this must be just a test? then regap and drive for three hrs got it I'll let u know what happens. thanks again.

"okay Spark cheats to the closest point at 1/4 it jumps but 7/16 is a big gap, so the spark is jumping about 1/2 the gap to the side.Not sure what this proves but thats what happens. 120lbs compression give or take a lb or 2 across the board. As for the Three hour tour the skipper Giligan and I had the same results as before.altough after An hour and some minor adjustments to the air screws it is a little smoother but the overall picture at the end of the next two hrs remains the same.ever so hopful that U can help. thanks again"

"yea thanks Charles,that would work for me.The sad news is I believe my reeds are done.Being that their on the crank this motor may sadly be piled in the corner of my shed in hopes that some day I have the time and $$$$ to fix it."
