Hope there's one out there that may have seen this before.
Working on a "91" I think 120, TLAIE. Starts and seems to be ok at or just above idle but as the rpm,s come up to about 2000/2500 the ignition system goes into an interrupted state. You can see this on a timing light. All cylinders.
First thought it was the power pack, had grounded the temp sensors, no luck. To keep this somewhat short all of the ignition components were changed one at a time, including the flywheel, same problem. Also checked the diode in the engine harness. After some head/butt scratching one last ditch effort the plugs were changed, these had just been put in a few weeks earlier. They were Champion plugs by the way and what was called for. The problem went away! Thinking there must have been some rf interference in those plugs all the original components were put back on. The trouble was back!! So again put the new parts back on.... trouble still with us! Well at that point another set of plugs were tried...trouble gone!! Thinking we must have just had a bad pack of plugs. Started a few times during the day and all fine...but all of a sudden..... the trouble is back! I'm lost?
Any help? Thanks!
