Eh, right here at marineengine.com. look for the serial number on both the drive and the engine. it makes searching the parts much easier

AKA 160 or 165, depending on year. Bear in mind that a later four cylinder offering was also labeled 165

Based on photo of boat, condition of the engine in said boat.....................RUN away.........

that is what is commonly referred to as, A CAN OF WORMS..............a very old can.........

Have you already purchased this boat or are you about to purchase it......., or is it being offered to you for free?

I ask this because it is often less expensive (in the long run, and even if for free), to purchase a fully functioning boat!

.

Or it could be an MC150. The 250 cubic inch in line six was one of the best versions offered. If you like the boat and that motor is sound use it. Ricky is not a good source for Mercruiser info, he is, however, a somewhat clever copycat of "freeware" cartoons and a minder of other members manners.

Its at least a fifty year old 160....late 60's version.....it has the 'warping' cover plate on the combination manifold.....the better manifold is found on the 165 versions produced immediately afterwards.....

Ok I'm looking for a part number for the carburetor because it didn't come with one I tried plugging in my serial number but nothing came up it look like it has the 2 barrel adapter correct me if I'm wrong I'm not to fimillar with carburetors

This is the last listing:
1351-3635A 2 - CARBURETOR NLA

the NLA = no longer available

So you will have to check with a marine salvage yard or get one from one of the carb rebuild houses.....you'll need a flame arrestor, too. Another option maybe one of the aftermarket carb OEMs....

That is definitely a Mercuiser 165 inline 6, the GM 250. I have a Mercruiser 165 in my boat. It's a much later model but looking at the photos, that carb looks a lot like a Rochester carburetor. I am on the second engine, the first was a 72 and now a 77, and both had Rochester carbs. The 72 had a Rochester 2GV. The 77 has a a Rochester 2 jet. I still have the 2GV and It looks identical to the 2 jet but I'm sure there are differences A lot of the parts for these are available on marineengine.com http://www.marineengine.com/parts/m...1978/2770032-thru-5178958/carburetor-assembly
ANd there are Rochester 2 GV carbs available as re-manufactured, and clones (I think by Sierra) and parts available. Make sure you specify marine. You can get rebuild kits too. try Carbs Unlimited http://www.carburetion.com/r2.asp Also for info on these, look at the Carburetor Doctor https://carbkitsource.com/tech/Rochester/TwoJet-index.html
