Head temp 1998 Johnson 115 ??

Hello, what will be the correct operation temprature on the heads for this motor when i use a infrared thermometer ?
What themp will the head need to go out of "cold start" mode ?

Bring the engine to normal temp and put your hand on the heads and count slow to six. the head should be hot enough you want to pull your hand away but dont have to. No more than 150 degrees others here will know better.

Around 100 degrees for Quikstart to kick out..

Ok, so coldstart go of by about 37dg celsius.
On what temprature will a good termostat open ?

They start opening about 120F and should be fully open at 150F.Check at t-stat housing as block will read higher

Both heads should heat up fairly quickly and evenly within a few minutes it should go out of cold start even on a cold day. If the head take a long time to warm up the thermostat is stuck open.
