Grey tube with red plastic tip

Does anyone know what this is? I was replacing my throttle and shift cables on my Mercury 150 and when I was putting everything back together I noticed this hanging there. I wasn't sure if I might have dislodged it. I also found a spring and rubber top and wasn't sure if that went on the end of this tube as well.

Looks like the speedo tube......

Thank you for the reply. After having the name of the tube I did some more research and found another picture from someone else that had two tubes, one exactly like mine and a black one. On another forum, he was told the black one was the speedo and the grey the water pressure tube. I can't really find anything in the manual I purchased online that talks about a water pressure tube. When I google it, it is mostly videos about how to clean the water intake whole on the lower unit. Either way, is that tube suppose to just lie in the bottom of the engine not connected to anything? I just want to make sure I did not dislodge it or move it.

When I change the throttle cables, I had cut the zip tie holding all the tubing and cables together as they enter the motor from the boat. I am wonder if it is suppose to just be wrapped up with the other cords and sitting in the drain area at the back of the boat but not in the engine itself.

If you know this, would appreciate a reply. Again, thank you. I am just woman that decided to save our family some money by doing this repair myself. I was successful with he cable change out, I just should have taken more pictures LOL.
