gearcase oil

Can I use regular gear oil in outboard lower units ? It would be 80W90 or straight 90

Spend the additional $3-4 dollars and get a marine oil

I use Walmart 85W115 in the blue bottle. Cheap and it works just fine. "Marine" oil is about the same but costs more. (You ougth to see what they get for "aviation" oil! It's about the same as well.)
