1989 4.3 searay will not start, have replaced all electrial parts still no spark

Welcome to the forum. With key in run position, getting 12 volts to the coil?

yes 12 voilts to coil, still no spark at the coil wire to the distributer

I just replaced what was a brand new never had a moment's worth of 12 volts flowing to it NAPA coil that was no good out of the box. Put on an old gunky, rusty coil from one of my old dead Range Rover hulks, keyed for half a crank and off she went!

I tried both th new coil and the old tested both checked both good still no spark, book says replace inition anplifier very expensive, is there a way to test this?
