OK so I have a 2003 Evinrude 115 with the ficht fuel injection system. I was out the other day and fired up getting off the trailer. Everything was fine. Took off, got on plane, still no issues. Got to my destination put the throttle in neutral and the RPM's wound up to 3500 in neutral, no throttle pushed, nothing... I shut it off try to fire it back up and see what the issue might be. Would try to start but not turn over, after 3-4 times of trying to get it to fire the check engine light on my gauges started blinking.. Now im in the spot where none of my local mechanics in DFW have the software program to clear the check engine code and get me out of the motor "safe" mode. Anybody have any idea what is going or know a mechanic that can service this problem within a couple hours of Dallas/ Fort Worth Texas....Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really do love my boat that I have and have not a problem out of this boat in the 5 years Ive had it..

Only 2 things will cause a ficht to rev up like that...TPS wacky or injector/s leaking. Sounds like TPS has problem. Need to find someone with software to see if code 12/13/14 and maybe 57

Thank you for the info, I will write this down. Ive called all my local dealers around Dallas. None of them seem to have the computer software to hook up to it. Are these mechanics really that few and far between?

It not the mechanics its the dealerships...motor is 16 yrs old, parts getting harder to find and more expensive, BRP does not offer support for that motor so no technical assistance...

Yes sir, that is what Im coming to find out. Its looking like I am going to try to fix it if possible ( I found a dealer with the software to hook up and run the diagnostic on it). Then dump it as quick as possible. Ive already got another boat lined up to buy with a Yamaha on it. The boat has been solid for 5 years straight with no issues. Now its been in the shop 3 times in 3 months. Seems like a downward spiral of things starting to go down on it.
