Explain double firing

I will check temp sensor and TPS sensor as per manual in the morning
My thoughts are even though I'm rich (so I think) should it not clean out at higher rpm ?
Peter

I hate to be a parts changer have you tried cleaning all the connectors with electrical cleaner and put back together with dielectric grease? Sand all grounds metal to metal including components that use a mount bolt for a ground? Just start replacing the inputs cheapest first until you get to the ecm.

I don't know the exact year of this motor..it's a rebuilt power head I was told because the frost plug is painted and does not have the ser. number stamped in it .I do see a 94 stamped on the block on switch box side
Peter

Have you checked throttle pickup (engine sync) between butterfly opening and spark advance? Are the butterflys opening the exact same time? Try checking true TDC on the #1 cylinger with a piston stop tool? You think the engine was rebuilt maybe it is a mechanical issue? Once you get the bugs ironed out you should be an expert. To calculate fuel mix you need a full tank of fuel and put a mark on the oil reservor. Use about 50 gallos of fuel and top the tank off and measure the amount of oil to get to the mark. Convert the fuel added into ozs and divide oil into fuel it should be close to 50:1.

Looking at rear of motor....1-3-5 are on RIGHT side and 2-4-6 on LEFT side as is VST. Need/serial number as need to know ignition type and ECU if analog or digital or 2.4 or 2.5 as TPS readings are different.

Ok..so I stand corrected..I do have 2-4-6 wired to left side..vst side..double checked..I have no ser# anywhere on motor..as I can see or have been directed as to where they should be..best I can make out is the 94 stamped on the block...it is a 2.5 xri....any help in trying to find a ser #..there are no stickers or stamps in frost plugs or on transom..would a pic be of any benefit?
Peter

Correct but I don't have any stickers anywhere resembling a ser#..
Tryed locating to order parts..none to be found,..ser number is not stamped on frost plug either
Peter

Keep reving it like that and your next questions will be how to rebuild it!!!!! Reving out of water with no load will tell you nothing!!!! What is the part number on ECU sticker????
