Evinrude lower unit lube plugs for a Mariner???

I just got finished changing the lube in my 95 Mariner Mag III lower unit. The plugs have slot type screw driver 'notches' in them and they need replacing. Some where I read the Evinrude plugs have 'Allen head' "notches" in them.. Anybody know if the thread size and the diameter are the same?? I have a friend that runs a Yammy, will the Evinrude plugs fit on the Yammy?? Really like the idea of using the Allen type plugs, to align when installing, and then tighten without stripping the "notch" Thanks...BF

They will fit the Mariner , but will not fit the Yamaha.---------------Some of these use an O-ring that you might want to throw out in favour of a nylon washer.
